We think the best food in America isn't in a warehouse — it's on a folding table on a Saturday morning, sold by the person who grew it. So we're mapping every farmers market in the country, one page at a time, along with the part nobody else bothers to track: the growers and makers behind each one.

Why we made this

Farmers markets are easy to love and weirdly hard to find. Hours live in a Facebook post from 2022, the address is "behind the old bank," and the one vendor you drove out for skipped this week. We wanted a single, friendly place that answers the basics — where, when, who's there — so you can spend less time searching and more time deciding between the peaches and the pie.

Where the data comes from

Our foundation is the public USDA Local Food Portal, the federal registry of farmers markets. Right now that adds up to 6,633 markets across 52 states & territories and 4,305 cities — 100% with a pin on the map, and 4,181 with a website you can visit.

Every time we rebuild the site, we pull fresh data from the USDA and tidy it up — straightening coordinates, repairing broken links — so what you see is as close to reality as we can get it. (One honest note: pluck.market is not affiliated with the USDA. We just love their data.)
